This policy explains what Ascent (Alpen Ventures) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account details (name, email), the content you create in the product, and technical data such as log and device information. If you connect an integration (e.g. a bank via our provider), we store the tokens needed to sync, encrypted at rest.

The mobile app

The Ascent app for iPhone and Android uses the same account and data as the web. It also handles: a push notification token and your device platform, so we can send the notifications you choose; the camera, only when you scan a barcode or photograph a receipt; and photos you pick to attach to a receipt, which are uploaded to your workspace. The app does not access your location or your contacts, and contains no advertising or third-party analytics. Calls and texts you start from the app are placed by your phone; we store only the activity note you choose to save.

How we use it

To provide and secure the service, to communicate with you about your account, and to improve the product. We do not sell your personal data.

Sharing

We share data only with processors that help us run the service (hosting, payments, email, error monitoring, bank-data sync), each bound to protect it, and where required by law.

Retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. You can access, export, correct, or request deletion of your data by contacting us.

Security

We use tenant isolation, encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and encrypted integration tokens. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
